This is a new, alternative gel cushion that fits on the ComfortGel and ComfortGel Blue Nasal Masks. There are three (3) different frame sizes for the ComfortGel. Only the sizes Small and Medium cushions fit onto the same frame.
Improved Gel Cushion Technology. The
ComfortGel Blue continues to use a dual, gel cushion and silicone flap
system. Respironics has improved the ComfortGel material. The gel is
now softer and conforms to your face with greater ease. Use the
separate silicone membrane that snaps on, over the gel cushion, to
increase the life of the cushion and provides a unique Sure Seal
Technology (SST), contouring a seal around the Gel Cushion.
Silicone Cushion Flap. Does your mask get worn and "mushy" too quickly? Use the separate silicone membrane that snaps on over the gel cushion to increase the life of the cushion. The unique Sure Seal Technology (SST) contours and seals around the ComfortGel cushion.
System One Resistance Control. Respironics wanted a machine to achieve optimal pressure no matter which mask is used. Resistance Control is the solution, a numbering system on all of Respironics CPAP masks based on variable resistance characteristics. Each number instructs the device to compensate for different mask types. The result? A consistent and reliable pressure enhanced with all the benefits of Flex Technology no matter which mask is used.
DO NOT BOIL CUSHION. 'Blue' Gel Technology is engineered to conform to facial features without the need to boil the cushion. Unlike the Original ComfortGel Nasal CPAP mask, the ComfortGel Blue cushion cannot be boiled. If you have any problems with size or fitting, please give us a call.
Replacing Mask Frames and Cushion with SST Flap
ComfortGel and ComfortGel Blue mask frames and cushions are interchangeable, but the cushion and frame must be the same size.
The same size silicone flap must be used to secure the gel cushion to the frame.

The result is a consistent and reliable pressure, enhanced with all the benefits of Flex Technology, no matter which mask is used.
You can find the Resistance Control number next to the size indicator on the SST FLap. The size of the frame, cushion, or flap is printed or embossed on each individual part. An example of the size indicator is a printed "L" meaning the replacement part is a size "Large." Use the number next to the Size for use with yout PR System One CPAP Machine. The ComfortGel Original SST Flap DOES NOT come with the Restistance Control number printed on the SST Flap.
